If there are no eligible candidates from the community for which the post is reserved, candidates belonging to other reserved category will be considered and in their absence open category will be considered.
How to apply:
Prescribed application form can be downloaded from Kannur University web site and filled in application, complete in all respects, should reach to the Registrar, Kannur University.
Original chalan receipt for Rs..600/-(cost of application Rs.100+Registration fee Rs.500) remitted in the Kannur University Fund, is to be attached along with the application.
Head of account for the remittance is 8658-00-102-96 (27) KUS in Government Treasuries. Applicants residing out side Kerala, may send DD in favour of the Finance Officer, Kannur University payable at SBT Kannur University Campus Branch, Mangattuparamba.
Submission of Application : The filled in application with attested copies of the certificates proving age, qualification, experience, community, non creamy-layer certificate etc. should be addressed to the Registrar, Kannur University, Mangattuparamba, Kannur University Campus.P.O, Kannur-670567, Kerala.
Last date for the receipt of filled in application : 19-7-2010

Dear Professor,
I am a female Syrian national student. I was born in 1971. I am an agricultural engineering holder of “special Bachelor Degree in Agriculture Engineering”, majoring in horticulture. I am a member of academic staff at the horticulture department, Faculty of Agriculture, Damascus University. I work as a teacher assistant and I contribute in teaching many courses like production of winter vegetable, production of summer vegetable, and seed production. I was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Biotechnology in the framework of Trans-European mobility scheme for university (Tempus Programme), operated by a consortium of German, Belgium and French universities under a cooperative agreement with Damascus University / Syria.
I have performed my master stage under supervision of Dr. Luitgardis Seigner, head of phytopathology diagnosis department in the Institute of Plant Protection (Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft Institut für Pflanzenschutz LfL: Bavarian State Research Centre for Agriculture) Freising, Germany. My master thesis was titled ” Investigations on Fusarium graminearum and F.culmorum in Wheat Kernels from Bavaria by Conventional and Real-Time PCR”.
My great ambition to follow up my postgraduate study (PhD) in the field of plant biotechnology. My favourite areas of interest is studying the mechanisms of plant defense toward the environmental a biotic stresses like salinity, high and low temperature, frost and chilling, and/or drought; studying the vegetable Plant growth regulation factors to identify the corresponding genes of growth under response to environmental stress; plant breeding to transfer some candidate environmental tolerant gene between related species. actually, I have read the announcement via internet about the JNCASR-CCSTDS fellowship programme for scientists from developing countries and I would like to apply for. However, I need an acceptance from an Indian lab to enclose it in my application and I have prepared a proposal about the effect of water stress on potato which is an important project for Syria and if you are satisfied with this project I will send you the proposal.
